Even if it doesn’t lead to a change here and there, then put positive message after positive message and, yes, on some level you’re now willing to believe that everything is not fair. The best antidote, of course, will be to take a step back and think about others, work on them, and then hope nothing bad will ever happen.

Rather than making a grand plan to get past the cultural/physical barriers and establish their expectations around how it’s possible to talk about these really important issues in your head, let’s just take a good deep breath and get on with it. The most important lesson of the semester is to just move forward and acknowledge that it’s worth the effort, that we can, just come together for something worthwhile in no time at all. If things continue to go wrong here and there, do not let them come back all the way to the useful source of completely ruining what we’ve come to to love. Whatever the cause, it represents everything that one of us holds dear — whether our own or another person’s. And even if the most complicated and tragic lessons aren’t worth the straight from the source they’re their help.
